First, good on you for being enterprising.
Second, don't give up. There are hundreds of restaurants, clubs, bars, cafes and hotels in Pittsburgh looking for traffic.
Why not continue growing the account by featuring images from and (at least initially) doing free shout outs for a wide range of Pittsburgh-based businesses.
Obviously, the only Pittsburgh business you don't do shout outs for is Pam's whatever the fuck diner.
In time, if you keep the account hyper local (I.e relevant) as a marketing tool for these businesses, you can have daily feature slots (starting initially at $20).
Just keep growing the account until it's one of the biggest in Pittsburgh. And then send an email to muppetowitz communications and politely request that they kiss your arse.
Possible names: @hotpittsburgh @pittsburghnow @mypittsburgh @ourpittsburgh... you get the idea.
Maybe you can grab branded accounts (I.e ournyc, ourchicago, etc or some variation) for the top 100 US cities. Then create a website e.g. www.ourinstacity.com (so things look more legit when you attempt to make sales) and you can focus on hyper local geo-targeted businesses.
Just a quick thought.. probably a lot brighter future in something like this than simply going after (increasingly difficult to obtain) affiliate revenue streams.
