# Best Way to Mass Unfollow from Desktop?

What’s the best way to do this if you are following 10k people and want to get it down to 1k?

What if I unfollowed about 15 people in an hour and hit an action block? Does that mean it will take me 5+ years to get down to 1k?

A block after about 15 unfollows shows that Instagram restricted this account’s current activity. It does not establish a fixed hourly allowance or a five-year timeline. On desktop, use your Following list to unfollow selectively. Pause while blocked, then resume in small, spaced sessions. If restrictions recur, space them further apart rather than treating one blocked hour as a rate calculation.
