Can someone read your Reel cover in both places it appears: the full Reel view and the smaller profile-grid tile? That quick comparison can catch a cover that looks polished at full size but loses its point when the edges are cropped.

Compare two versions of the same cover. **Version A** uses the whole canvas: a long headline near the edge, with the product or subject off to one side. **Version B** puts a short, specific label and the important visual near the center, with breathing room around both. For a bakery Reel about freezing dough, “Freeze cookie dough” beside a clear dough photo will usually survive a small crop better than a longer sentence spread across the image.

Before publishing, preview the cover at full size, then check Instagram’s profile-grid crop preview if it’s available in your posting flow. Shrink that preview mentally to thumbnail size: can you still read the label and recognize the subject without opening the Reel? If not, shorten the text or reposition the visual and check again.

When you review covers, do you design for the full Reel view first or start with the tighter grid crop?
