How do they benefit from it ?  
I mean the owners, their groups for free.

Changed the category.

They can use a bot to add all the users to another group (on telegram) and use that as a marketplace to advertise services, charge for pinned posts even sell the list to other groups wanting to grow their own. It’s kinda pointless IMO as there’s so many groups on telegram and most of them have 95% of the same users…
