What are banned hashtags?

Not everyone is aware of Instagram’s list of banned hashtags.

There are two possible reasons why a hashtag might be banned:

Instagram associates it with a topic that is deemed inappropriate for the platform.
The hashtag was targeted by spammers recently, so Instagram had to ban it temporarily to limit spammed content.

It’s best to make sure you are not accidentally including a banned hashtag under your post. I’ll show you how to check a hashtag for yourself:
