Hi guys, there is something really weird going on with my profile and I can’t get to the bottom of this, so I am asking for your help.
So, the account in question is a business account with a link in bio for months now. It is regulary receiving 1.3k - 1.4k profile visits daily and around 20 website clicks on the link. It is also steadily growing with 200-300 followers daily. I only post two images and couple of stories daily, no automation.
Now, the weird part: at 8pm I start noticing crazy spike in my Google Analytics. From 8pm to 12pm 400+ people visited my website. I checked the referrer and it is all from Instagram. Also, these are not bots, as they behave normally and they are mainly from USA, Canada, UK and Germany. I check my Instagram insights and confirm the traffic spike is from there. There is also a huge spike in profile visits, which looks normal with the link click spike. What is weird is that the impressions and reach of my profile through the content hasn’t changed. That leads me to believe that the account recieved some kind of shoutout from a big profile, but I can’t see any tags or mentions with sufficient engagement or big profile.
Can someone try and explain me this? Have you had something similar happen to you? I want yo understand what is going on so I know how to repeat this.
