Accidentally Hit Explorer Page .. Wow

On a 150K account, one of my recent post recently hit explorer by accident as it wasn’t planned or anything.

Regular post engagement = 3K - 5K.

Explorer post = 125K Likes & 8K Comments.

Gained about 15K~ new followers that same day.

I was shocked … this is ridiculous.

Has anyone figured out how to hit explorer on a regular basis?

What type of content are you posting?

Well this topic seems quite interesting ///up

From what I know, To hit the explorer page, you need to have a “certain” amount of relevant engagement in your post in a “certain” amount of time.

The BIGGER and more RELEVANT the pages are the higher the chances are to hit the Explorer page.

This is why people do like and comment rounds and engagement groups… The real deal is power likes that can almost everytime get you top 9 if not on EP

Power Likes are expensive, and there are MANY “fluffy sellers.”

as for the basic shh you should be doing to try to “Piggy Pack” and go Viral is Tag big/bigger brands/accounts in a NON SPAMMY way.

I have personally had a post go CRAZY because someone I Tagged reposted it (was a MEME)

Also, use Branded hashtags if you are really trying to target a specific brand/company. (I have tried this and actually had a company contact me threatening me (if I dont stop using “thie” hashtag! roflmao… I stopped to be nice (but boy did the extortion thoughts come to mind, joking,

Hope this helps,

I suspect the idea that your explore page is populated by posts people you follow liked/engaged with is incorrect or out of date. I recently started a new account and followed a few of my close friends. My explore page was populated with a huge variety of posts, none of which were liked by people I follow.

They did all have 30 hashtags (or 27 was the lowest number I saw), and once I started clicking on a few (say a pic of a puppy for example) even though I didn’t like or comment on the post the next time I came back to the explore page their were many more puppy pics. Also spotted were other posts by people who I had engaged with.

Also noted that if you click on an image on the explore page and then scroll down to see more posts they are linked by a common hashtag.

There was also clearly a preference for videos over pictures (& although IG says they don’t prefer vids over pics I think it is because they have a watched for 3 sec checkpoint which skews their metrics- so for example I was browsing and reading a quote NEXT to a video, but the video played for more than 3 secs without me scrolling past. Now algorithm thinks I like what ever the video is about, and that the video is good content.)

A client of mine hit the explore page the first month we started working together. They gained about 5K followers, post got 5x normal amount of likes. I looked really good! Hahah. I’d say about half the followers didn’t stay around for more than a couple weeks though.

why are we bringing up an old thread from two years ago? i think its obvious that some of these methods are outdated.
