Being payed to promote posts on Instagram

After 1 year of being on Instagram, I have finally made my first $ online, it felt great but most importantly it HUGELY motivated to apply all my effort into this.

I post food pictures from general restaurants around the world, on one page that has 30K followers (3K-15K likes per post), I finally got DM’d by a small restaurant to post a picture of their restaurant/food, I charged $50 for it and was nervous they would reject but was super happy they accepted.

Later I got another one and charged the same, then a couple of days later the same restaurant contacted me to post another one, I made around $150 in a single week more than i did in an entire 1 year and a half, and I want more.

-How much should I be charging per post? is $50 ok?
-How can I find more restaurants that I can tell them I can post their pictures on my page for money (clients)?

follow your prospects and send them a DM to make a proposition. your price is ok but you can go higher, maybe try with 100 $ and see how it goes.

Cheers,

Sam

Congrats on your first $ with Instagram!

Be proactive, don’t wait for getting a DM. Reach out to similar pages like the ones who contacted you already and offer it. When you made already $150 just by getting contacted you can X10 it on the lower end! Of course don’t spam everyone with DMs, but the right people who have demand will appreciate it.

Scrape a big list of users based on the pages who contacted you and then go through them and decide manually who could need this service and send them a DM.

The only ones who have the privilege to wait for getting DMs are hot girls, popular female models, etc. All the other ones, we have to proactively take action, otherwise someone else will do it!

When someone messages you first, you get to ask for $50+ for the shoutout.
If you’re reaching out to accounts you won’t be getting those numbers.

In the shoutout game as soon as you’re DMing people asking them to buy your promos you’ve already lost.

Sell Shoutouts on Fiverr and put the fiverr link in BIO of your IG account:

Why would you give Fiverr 20% when it’s a lot easier for the person to send you a message and pay by Paypal/Stripe?

Because Fiverr brings you clients without having to DM or do anything. Moreover Fiverr have rating. Buyer will see it and you have better trust
Consider 20% as an affiliate commission

You just said you sent people from IG to Fiverr.
You weren’t talking about the organic traffic on Fiverr.

I could accept that being on Fiverr is good for you (it was a terrible experience for me, since Fiverr brings up the worst kind of clients), but I still don’t understand why you’d link from your page to it.

If people comes to my page and want to shoutout they can just contact me on fiverr. They will see I am offering shoutouts and that I have good rating  BUT I guess you are right the organic traffic on Fiverr is the most interesting thing (I saw fiverr pushing my gigs on their fb ads)

You have a fine number of likes. How many comments do your posts average?

Highly inspired! Thanks keep it up.

Thanks Sam, I charged someone $75 yesterday and they accepted, will follow your advice and go up to $100 and see what happens.
Sorry what do you mean by “prospects”? Does it mean I search for restaurants I think would want to promote on my page, or do you mean restaurants that follow my pages?
Thanks

Thanks, it’s dropping on my last few posts for some reason (500 - 700), could it be because I use the same hashtags all the time?
Comments are usually between 50 - 200+

Great idea, I will do a Fiverr and show them my Insta pages for proof, I don’t feel comfortable putting a Fiverr link in my Insta bios though, if someone wants a shoutout from Insta they can DM and we go direct to PayPal.

Is it a good idea to do an upwork account to suggest I Instagram market for people?
Thanks!

Yesterday I DM’d 2 people suggesting I can “promote” their work on my page, their first messages were of course super excited (they thought free promos), when I responded with the prices one said they’d think about it and the other was impressed and payed $75 for a promo.
It feels more desperate like you mentioned but I guess it does work…how to be more selective/professional and not spammy though?

It’s all about the leverage. You’re giving it away when you’re the one asking first.
There also isn’t a fixed price for your shoutouts, so it’s all based on leverage.

Not saying you shouldn’t do it, since what matters is that you’re converting that account into money, I’m just saying that in the long run you should focus on getting people to message you instead of messaging people, because that’s how your rates go up really fast.

Thanks,
How would you recommend i’d get people to message me to promote their businesses then (other than just to continue to grow my accounts with relevant hashtags and a “DM for Promo” bio)?

Follows, likes and comments.
You started this by getting messaged, so it looks like you’re already fine on that front.

Can you get this account to 100K? That’s when people start taking you seriously for promos

You mean for my account to show activity and message/like/comment on other posts?
Or do you mean to get more engagement (messages/likes/comments) on my account?
