Can't Change Name Error

I just logged into an old IG account I set up a long time ago but have never used. I changed the username but when I tried to change the name I got the message “You can’t change your name right now because you’ve changed it twice pithing 14 days. You can however remove your name at any time.”

But the thing is, this isn’t true, the name and username have only ever been changed once- and that was about a year ago.

Has anyone else had this happen? I’m hoping I should be able to change it in 14 days time. And I wonder what would be the point of removing the name.

Best bet would be to just wait two weeks and see what happens.

It is hard to debug if the two weeks did not pass yet.

I just noticed that we can delete our account name anytime after reading your post. Do you get the same error when you’re changing the name through web browser on your PC?

Hey ossi, I haven’t tried with my browser, maybe I’ll give that a go.

Well…
I just tried mine and changed name successfully.
I think you should contact IG support.
