Does Facebook marketing work or not anymore?

Hey guys, I’m super new to this wonderful forum! The reason I joined is my friend invited me to try the Instagram functionality!

However, I would like to know if Facebook marketing works, as I am hearing crazy stories about Facebook is dead, they bought Instagram in order to use it as their marketing alternative (cause apparently Facebook ads engine failed as a project)

But I am curious to find out from you guys, as specialists and more experienced than me in this field, what is your opinion?

Thanks in advance!
Chris

What do you mean with that?

Other than this, let me answer the question whether “FB ads are dead or not” with this graph:

So if a business that made more than 50 billion dollars in revenue in 2018 is dead, well, then I dont know which revenue is needed to be “alive”. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, but not as good Instagram. Run ads on your post, that seems to work in order to get more views.

You can’t get better return of your bucks than Facebook ads. However, you have to keep in mind a couple of things - Facebook ads are not for every business; you have to know how to target the right audience for your needs; and you need to be prepared to invest a lot of money to start seeing great (or even good) results.

With that said, everyone who says that Facebook ads are dead either tries to purposeful mislead you or doesn’t know what he’s doing.

What I meant is that users using Facebook ads generated much less money compared to those who used Instagram.

I suppose due to Instagram’s ad platform is more user-friendly and easier to set up targeted ads, people tend to use it more and started complaining about Facebook stealing their money.

However, @andbogi is absolutely right, maybe these people did not run the Facebook ads correctly or the type of business they were running was not for Facebook.

So thanks for the heads up buddy!

If there is an article on how to successfully set up and run a campaign on Facebook for a local business I would definitely give it a second chance and see how it works this time for me

Sorry but you’ve not master in Facebook Ads…Probably you’ve near hear or watch Tim Burd video.

Facebook is giant when it terms to target audience…People like Tim Burd have done PhD in Facebook pixel (Tim mostly target his audience with pixel), I mean his every video is Big Boom when you’re into paid marketing…

Instagram Ads Revenue is not close to Facebook Ads revenue period.

There are a ton of (free) articles and (free) videos on Youtube about FB ads, but also a lot of video courses (for a fee). I have seen some of the courses and can say: most of them are over-priced and damn basic.
Some courses even dont tell you anything about a custom audience or a look-a-like audience, and about the FB pixel.

But there is another “issue”: a campaign for a restaurant is different to one that is set up for a real estate agent. So if you have any chance, find a course (for free or not) that is specific for your niche.

Good luck :four_leaf_clover:, @ChrisMav

The best thing I’ve found to do is run reach ads to fill up your pixel with data. You can then retarget those users with more direct offers.

When you run reach ads, focus on more engagement type content. It’s a good way to get some initial brand exposure without selling.

When you run retargeting, go for conversion campaigns and do you’re selling and/or lead generation there.
