Engagement groups. Are they effective?

Hello people, i’m quite new to the concept of forums and such but thought i’d give it a shot.
Just curious as what people here think about instgaram enagagement groups and their effectiveness.

Is it worth it to join some, and how will you go about finding the most effective group.

Always looking on ways to gain knowledge, especially on ways to growth hack social media, so i’ll appreciate any form of feedback, or tactics that have worked for you.

For context, I have a fitness related/lifestyle account.

I think it really depends on the group!

There are millions of engagement groups and some are good and some do not even work at all!

You really have to try it yourself! Some are good, some are bad!

Sounds great. I’m a firm believer in organic growth and not taking a shortcut, but helping others as well as yourself increase your reach, especially with the changing algorithms sounds beneficial to everyone.

Might have to go ahead and try it and see what I my own experiences of it are.

Engagement groups are good/great if 1) all same niche 2) each account is big enough to carry weight, so the bigger the better 3) everyone consistently participates (and 4) the liking still looks natural enough for IG to not flag it internally). HOWEVER, most engagements groups will not be in the exact same niche, user sizes will vary a lot and often you have quite small accounts that don’t really do any good since the large ones stick to themselves or sell power likes, and the biggest issue tends to be leachers. People either forget or are just not as reliable. The other big issue is that it takes a LOT of time if you’re always checking, doing actions etc.

TL:DR if you can get into an automated EG that’s niche specific and with good sized accounts, then go for it, that can be great. Most of the time this won’t be the case, so it may not be worth it, especially given the amount of time you’ll be investing in doing rounds etc.

Organic growth is getting harder and harder each passing month. EG groups now are the most effective way to grow, for free ( and the best). As with anything, hitting explorer, hashtag growth, EG/DM groups, paid to advertise (be it IG promotions, shoutouts)… if your content sucks…well so does your growth…

Have you tried putting an account off engagement groups and see what that means for that account ?

yes. often lackluster performance and loss of followers. never does it reach rate of growth with EG.

That’s great. It seems like a great way to make sure your content is seen, which is part of the batte.

How would you go about findind effective groups?

let me clarify that… they are DM groups, not public groups. People I know, I ask them to ask people they know. My accounts all like each other and comment also. In return, my accounts also reply to their comments. I got my own little private group ( my own accounts) plus 2 dm groups.

I took off all accounts from liking each other a few months back and engagement dropped as did growth.

Did it drop back to a “normal” rate , or did it even get worse ? In the sense of putting the account “off” the heroin .

Its all about the quality of the group for sure. They offer massive value though
