Facebook and Instagram Crackdown (Disabling Accounts)

I’ve heard that Facebook / IG is trying to crack down on botted accounts in preparation for the upcoming US election. They are moving on the side of caution and will disable any account that they suspect of automated behavior. For example, a lot of liking, same comments, mass DM, etc. Be careful with your activities as most disabled accounts will require photo / code verification and access to the email address you have in your account. Most accounts will be banned with no chance of verification. For those that are lucky enough to get this option, re-enabling accounts may take a long time due to their backlog and COVID.

I confirm this info
I am not sure if this will only be the case during the election or if it will continue afterwards?

Both assumptions possible actually, not sure IG had interest into the absolute obliteration of “parallel market”.

Any additional info welcome

They are not immediately disabling accounts, if they find an account suspicious of botting or automation they will send a message requiring the person to confirm their identity (by sending a picture of their ID)

This is the same case during every Elections, all we can do to prevent this is be as humanly as possible and once the elections are over so they should loosen up but can’t say if they will tighten the security only for the elections or permanently.

The three appeal forms you can use to try to get help if your account becomes disabled:

Is there a massive hit being done on scrapers? they dont even last a few hours for me anymore…

You can try entering a different email address in the appeal form.
