How long does it take for a Facebook name change?

I changed a name on a facebook page. The notice said that it can take up to 3 days, but that was 2 weeks ago.

It depends on whether you have alot of fans already or your name change to a totally different name/niche. I only changed the name when it’s relatively new and it takes around 1 day to almost instant.

if the page name is too different you have to change it in process
suppose you want to change name from “Instagram Tricks” to “Great Quote”

In first request Instagram Tricks => Instagram Tricks Great Quote

In second request Instagram Tricks Great Quote => Great Quote

if you do that each process will take less than 4hours

Are you referring to changing a page name in instagram or facebook?

on Facebook i just used that as an example

It says 24 hrs or whatever but Mine always took like 10 mins

bisilovemoney’s advice worked for me so far.
My FB page is a year old.

Changed the name, but only added the new page name at the end of the old name. The name change happened instantly. I have to wait 7 days to change the name again, then I will erase the old name and leave in the new name.
