I need help opening "RAR" files on windows 8.1

I Google searched and the suggestions didn’t work on my computer. Says i need an app, but my computer is giving an error when trying to get an app to open the files. I’m not having luck with that. Any help appreciated

WinRar or 7zip should open/extract .rar files

Yes. Thank you. I tried to get the 7r from the app store. But im getting an error message and it won’t let me get any apps from the app store. Others on windows have had the issue but yet to find a cure all. Was hoping someone in here might have been through this before. I thank you for that resource!

Download 7zip from official site , and install it, 7zip supports rar, zip files
