Hi guys, little help here. I have 2 accounts created with the same phone number. Both are mine, personal accounts and old enough. In the last three days both accounts have received a notification in the upper side inside the app, saying to confirm my phone number. The text says “Confirm your number to do things like adding security, receive confirmation code etc” and then I have two options: confirm my number or update my number. This happens when I am already inside the application and it’s not a pop up but a dialog box in the upper side of the app, so I could ignore the message and continue using the app without problems. I always verify the number, weird thing is that this is happening three days ago daily. It may be a bug or my accounts have any problem?
Instagram can be weird sometimes (or better said often).
If you added and confirmed your number there’s nothing to worry about. It’s probably just small bug.

From my number experience, it’s because of the number. Yes, It’s weird. The number is fresh, dedicated and haven’t use even once.
Yet, the era of IG craziness algorithms are coming. They’re not just caring about IP V4 or 6. They even take it a bit longer about phone number.
My numbers ate very different, fresh, new and dedicated. I won’t even dream of IG could use it to be an system.
Example, my no. 0971231230, 0971231231, 0971231232 etc. The numbers in these range for accounts are to be having more verification, really.
I don’t have any solid reference though. Yet, other accounts without having ranges of numbers are doing good.
It’s rare and objective opinion. You can just ignore this. But, it’s just my 2 cents. It’s not even have any good reference. You take it into consideration though.
The answer your are looking for is IG doesn’t want you to use the same number for two accounts. They ideally want one number per account. In the past it’s not been an issue but IG has been doing further updates recently and it’s possible that they are trying to push people to have one phone number per account (speculation but that’s what I have observed).

Mmmm that may be the case yes. Then it’s their fault encouraging people to have multiple accounts and then making you get another number for it. Dumb Zuckb…

Honestly just sounds like a bug to me. I wouldn’t be too worried. As long as you did the verification thats all that matters.
