Hey guys I was wondering if you guys know how Instagram determines “authenticity.” I feel like instagram punishes a lot of people for using automation or 3rd party apps, or even just for liking/following/unfollowing too much manually and then you get the AC message and an action block saying you are getting likes and follows in a an unauthentic way. But how do they know if someone is buying likes or followers, because I see a lot of celebrities and other accounts with a big following with lots of follows and likes from bots and it seems like they never get punished?
Also does instagram punish people for buying likes and follows? But also how would they know if they purchased them because anyone can buy follows/likes for another account.
Instagram does punish people for buying likes/follows by limiting reach and exposure. They don’t know if the like/follows were bought by the punished account or another account as far as I’m aware
of course they can get the account banned, if IG suspect that you are getting fake likes and followers they will send you the AC first (account compromised notification) then if you keep on the same stuff they will ban your account.
But how would instagram know it’s you and not someone else? Because then someone can buy fake likes and follows for another account so that they get banned. That’s so scary
The likelihood of that happening is extremely low. You’re far more likely to get accounts banned due to your own actions. Can confirm, lost many child accounts in the early days lol
Oh no what were you doing to get your account banned? I got an action block for unfollowing too many people (Not a bot I was doing manually) and then I got the AC message and said I was getting getting unauthentic likes and follows (which is not true) so I feel like that is a generalized message that instagram sends for the block
Oh, I was too aggressive with actions on those accounts. I would recommend you do a search on the forum for “unfollow limits,” “follow limits,” “safe limits.”
That’s all up to IG. Sometimes they can disable your account very quickly and sometimes they are just blocking your actions. It’s difficult to tell what affects on their decision about what measures they will take.
Yeah same here. I’ve got many many blocks, captcha requests even one compromised message but that account never got disabled. And one different account got disabled after maybe one or two blocks but yeah that account was new one so that could be the reason probably.
