Another day, another feature nobody asked for. Facebook subsidiary Instagram has now enabled activity status in direct messages: this means that practically all of your friends will now be able to see when the last time you were actively using the app was.

@Renovatio - might be a feature you didn’t ask for. You (we) are not the customer though, we’re the product. That “feature” is actually really important to IG’s real customers.

Thanks for the heads up. As a regular user I always disliked these types of ‘snitch’ features. Being able to turn it off is cool though, I like that part :-p Turned it off on my own account already.

Gonna inform my clients and they can do as they please… I can imagine they may not want to appear online 24/7
