Instagram randomly deleting accounts or system bug?

In the last 48 hours, I noticed a very odd phenomenon that I’ve never seen before. Suddenly, a few of my accounts are just gone. Not disabled but gone/deleted. I had this with three different types of accounts:

  1. accounts that I am currently using and suddenly tell me when I log in that the username doesn’t exist (theoretically someone could have hacked the account and changed the details but I didn’t receive a login notification by email, so this is unlikely)
  2. accounts that got disabled are suddenly gone when I try to appeal it. When I try to login, I would normally get the message that the account got disabled for violating their terms. Now it just says that the username doesn’t exist. Since it’s impossible for a disabled account to get hacked, the only option would be that Instagram deleted the account. However, I’ve never heard of Instagram doing such a thing, especially while I’m in the appeals process.
  3. I bought some accounts and the username suddenly doesn’t exist when I want to login to them. Technically, my account provider could have double sold them etc. but they are legit, so I don’t think this is what happened.

Has anyone else experienced this problem recently? Given that I see this on different types of accounts in different states (actively logged, active but not logged in, disabled), I have a feeling that this may be a bug with Instagram and some accounts aren’t showing right now for whatever reason. If so, that would be pathetic on Instagram’s end but also a relief since I’d just have to wait it out.
