Is there any chance IG will ever usethe verification selfie video without consent?

As far as i can tell it seems to be a completely automated process just to verify you’re human. It asks you to move your head in different directions and it guarantees you it will be deleted in 30 days and never published anywhere. Any chance this gets used in ways that was not intended to be used? Such as human reviewed(if humans are actually looking at your video there’s no guarantee they might not do something stupid with it), published anywhere or stored beyond 30 days? In theory it would be pretty stupid of them to do something shady like that due to the possibility of nasty lawsuits and bans, but hey, it’s facebook. We know we can’t trust it.

Anyway, if you get hit with one of these blocks and it’s your main account, that’s really your only option. Sometimes giving up the account an aged account is throwing a lot of work and money straight out of the window.

Basically, the way i understand it is that this will just verify whether you’re human or not. It has nothing to do with identifying you or anything of that nature. Is this a fair assessment? And if it does, it is in direct violation of the laws of many countries.

Everything is possible, what guarantees us that they will not use it in something else? Is it just because they said they will remove it after 30 days? But unfortunately, if it’s the only way to verify your main account, then you need to do that if you are not willing to lose the account.
