The apps give you the ability to have users earn entries for the giveway by doing certain actions. For example, you can give 2 points for them following your twitter account, 1 point for liking a facebook, page, viewing an instagram post, posting a comment, sharing a post, etc. This allows you to make sure that the people that are entering the contest are doing specific actions that help you grow your following, page, and/or site.

Sorry, if I wasn’t clear. The apps are not phone apps. These are web apps that has special code that can be placed on websites, facebook pages, and more.
