think they are spending more time on Social Media, just not on Insta – other sites such as TikTok. Plus, many are simply burned out – and reduced Social Media time – it gets boring

I feel the same way, honestly, even as a content creator. Instagram is kinda dry

what ever insta is to people. one fact remains – it’s still a damn good platform. Many bitch about it.
Give me one other site that one can make money such as insta? Be it selling accounts, accounts management – (growth/influence), shopify stuff and other ways. TikTok to monetize for the average person is a joke – Unless you get big.

That’s true, IG is best for making money. But content-wise, I visited tiktok for 5 secs to check out one account and ended up staying for 20 min. IG is going to have to make a response to tiktok eventually. And these reach cuts and trying to get people to pay for ads isn’t going to cut it

i used to believe that with a firm conviction. That’s only partially true. If it was 100 percent fact – nobody would grow with 1.5 billion accounts organically.

people want free shit. that includes reach so they make money not giving insta one cent.

People definitely grow, but not as fast as a few years ago. Even @fuckjerry uses its own network of verified accounts to comment and engage to increase the reach. You can’t just sit back and post and expect to grow like you can with tiktok

they been doing this for years, nothing new.

How did they get a whole network of verified accounts?

Hey could you send me a DM regarding having your own network? I watched your video today and I’m very interested in working with you.

I don’t know the specific growth strategies they used.

Update: those accounts started finally gaining followers again. I guess there is hope for organic growth lol

I’ve been gaining followers as well and I have no longer been loosing so many. About 2 weeks ago when the purge was bad I was loosing 20-30 followers a day and now I am loosing less than 10 followers, which I feel is normal for an account with 81k+ followers and is gaining more than it is loosing.

For an 81K account, your daily loss of followers is extremely low. Wow

I feel like this is naive to even ask, but is it possible the algorithm started favoring this account, or is it likely just M/S.

That’s very possible & doable. I run my own experiments & have seen those results (In shorter time frames, so “higher” follower increase per day) numerous times.

While it can feel naive, not everyone grows using “tactics” like the common ones discussed on the forum: F/U/L, M/S, Story Views, SFS, Etc.

There are plenty who know how to do the basics to see results.

With that said, if the account belongs to someone (here) who’s consistently using (or posting about) the above tactics, it’s likely (a safe assumption to say) they’re using a combination of things.

These results are my hopes and dreams, if it’s really from posting alone. What I don’t understand is how this is happening when the engagement is only 1.59% at 119K… although I’ve seen another account with worse engagement grow fast as well (also around 100K)

Engagement does not equate follower growth.

Not sure if that’s been discussed here, but those two metrics are related but they don’t carry a causal relationship.

Results from what I’ve tested, [Assuming 10% = Great Engagement, 5% = Good Engagement, <2% = Bad Engagement]
Account 1: 500k in 15 months, for its last 10 months averaged 1500 followers gained per day, Bad Engagement.

Account 2: 275k in same time frame, for the last 10 months averaged 1000 gained per day, Bad Engagement.

Account 3: 9000 in less than 2 months, Began at Superb Engagement, slid down to Good Engagement, currently grows at 120 per day

Account 4: 21k in 3 months, currently grows at 350 per day, Began at Great Engagement, Slid down to just above Bad Engagement once it neared 5k.

Account 5: 10k over 5 months, Currently grows at 75 per day, Began at Great Engagement, Slid down to Great Engagement.

The list could go on, but these are direct examples from my experiments that highlight the point. These accounts from inception do nothing but post: no other action. To highlight the point, 3 of the ones I mentioned follow no one.

Incorporate the fundamentals of a Good Account (Name, Bio, Content, Caption, Hashtags) & its likely to happen for you.

The tactics are useful, but can kill your account’s potential if relied upon longterm.

I agree with you. I didn’t want to admit it in my mind because it appears illogical.

Also, your whole post is A+. I highly value data and metrics. I’m guessing you’re also a scientist or in analytics.
