Say a plant shop is making a short Reel series about drooping houseplants. Episode one helps viewers check whether the soil is dry or soggy. Instead of opening episode two with “Part 2 of our plant care series,” open with: “Your plant is still drooping, but the soil is wet. What should you check next?” Then show how to look for signs of root trouble. A viewer who missed episode one can still understand why this step matters.
Before filming each Reel, write down the question its ending leaves unresolved. Use that question as the next episode’s first on-screen line, followed by a specific promise: “Here’s what to look for before you water again.” Keep a short series note with three fields—question answered, question left open, next visual to show—so the context carries through without a long recap.
The practical test is whether someone can land on episode two and follow the useful step without hunting for episode one. Part numbers can still help people navigate, but they shouldn’t do the work of the hook. How do you carry context across a Reel series without repeating the whole previous video?
