hey guys i have a client who had promoted a post and got around 3.3k likes and they want me to follow all the people who liked it.
but the post on their page has got only 40 likes and the same promoted post has got 3.3k likes
how is this possible?
i tried to extract the likes from the promoted post link but it’s not working so can anyone please tell me the reason and what can be done in this case?
thanks
Promoted post got duplicated and is not posted on his actual Instagram feed.
Regards
what can be done in that case?
if u promote a post using facebook business manager u can only see the stats of the promotion there.
If u want to see the stats directly on your ig you should promote the post directly on IG.
(doing that u can still look at the stats on the facebook page).
BUT my suggestion is to always promote a post (photo/video) via facebook cause u can be 100 times more efficient when choosing the audience and the geolocation of the promotion.
i hope it helps

That’s actually not efficient. You’re both right and wrong.
The best method is this:
- Open Instagram settings. You should have an option called “Payment Profile” there. Click and set the correct Facebook ad account.
- Use IG to start the promotion - set the objective, put in any random audience, set budgets, start the promotion.
- Browse to Facebook Business Manager and you should see the promotion you’d set up via Insta there.
- You can now edit this promotion to have the targeting you were looking for.
This way, you can have your insta post get & show all the likes publicly, and you still get to do the proper targeting via Facebook. The only issue is that some options are not available to be edited on Facebook after setting up the campaign on Insta. Do the process once and you’ll easily see what’s going on.
EDIT: If you use a certain audience again and again for promo, there’s a shortcut to do all the above faster. When you’re setting the promotion via Insta, create an audience and save it when prompted. This can be any random audience. When you go to the ad set on Fb and click on edit, you will get the option to edit this audience. Once you edit it, select “update” (not “save as new”). Now every time you promote via Insta, you can use this audience and not bother with Facebook.
