My “Status” is getting set to “off” automatically. I have not found a button or threshold that is causing this… can someone please suggest any possibilities?
are the any follow sources in the tool? if i remember correct the tool stop if the sources are empty

Most likely you have “Enable stop account until” checked off and specifying a future date in the profile of the account in questions
