Why buy fake likes / views / impressions / reach?

I see a lot of social media panels selling likes / views / impressions / reach / etc - what’s the point of these?

Can they get you to rank for a specific hashtag? If yes, how many are needed (and how fast - or any other criteria)? If not, what’s their point (other than social proof)?

These methods used to work much better in the past, now they’re worthless. That’s all to be honest.

Some people do it just for perceived social proof, others think it makes them go viral which might have been the case in 2014 but these days it doesnt work, others use these to scam people selling them growth services but actually using panel likes.

All in all, the general recommendation is to stay away from fake likes and followers

Agreed that it’s useless. IG wants to see that your followers like your post before sending it out to top posts etc.

Really for 2 reasons

  1. Social Proof
  2. Scale organic reach (much much much harder now since services are crap)

They are useless only if you don’t know how to use them lol

If there is any smm panel still working these days, it will be almost impossible to find it among dozens that are crap.

I double this. Back then it was to boost your profile. So called social proof. Like a couple of thousand follwers topped with likes and comments, you would look legit, and ready to do f/uf or m/s with those profiles.
Today the quality of all above is soo crappy that it ruins more than it benefits!

Just wanna add that “back in the days” they weren’t solely used for social proof. Buying a high amount of likes/views could get you easily on Explore, giving sort of organic growth.

hello guys,

what Cantele said is true?

Back in the days YES! absolutely, but not anymore. @Snoofix
What @cantele says is true.

Not entirely. If you are buying, you need to buy it from a reliable website offering quality likes. Most sites these days offer lame followers and likes (from low quality bot accounts) selling them as “high quality powerlikes”. This kind of work can and will hurt your ER. If you find a reliable service offering quality likes and use them with a dripfeed (not buying 10k likes at once and pushing it on a post), you can make it work. But beware if you only had 10-20 likes on a post, for example, and start getting 1000 likes on a post it gets suspicious, so have a strategy.
