Confirm the Page selected in the composer. If someone manages several Pages, the first check is whether the draft and the attempted scheduled post are attached to the same Page. A publishing error on one asset does not tell you what access they have on another.
-
Check how that person has access to the Page. Open the Page’s access settings and look for their name. If the Page is managed through a Business portfolio, also check the portfolio’s people and asset assignments. Being able to see the Page, or work on other assets in the portfolio, does not necessarily mean the person has the Page task access needed to publish content.
-
Compare the action they can complete with the action that fails. For example, a teammate may be able to prepare a draft for review but get blocked when they try to schedule it. Check whether their assigned Page permissions include creating and publishing content, then have them retry with the same Page and post. Note the exact message and whether Publish now is also unavailable; that helps distinguish a permission issue from a problem specific to the scheduled post.
-
Only then inspect the post itself. If the Page permission is present, try a Page-only post without extra placements or attachments to narrow down what is failing. For marketers who have worked through this, which permission check revealed the difference between drafting and scheduling?
