YouTube vs TikTok – Which Platform Pays More?

Hey folks,

Just wanted to share some insights after experimenting with both TikTok and YouTube over the past 3 months — especially when it comes to making actual money.

If you’re debating where to put your energy as a content creator, this might help:

:moneybag: 1. Ad Revenue (YouTube is the clear winner)

YouTube actually pays you for views through AdSense. On my small faceless channel, I’m averaging about $1.50–$3 per 1K views.

Meanwhile, TikTok’s Creator Fund feels like a joke. I hit over 50K views on a video and made something like $1.17.

:repeat: 2. Content Lifespan

On YouTube, I’ve had videos from weeks ago still getting views daily, especially from search.

TikTok? Your video either blows up in 48 hours or disappears forever.

:briefcase: 3. Monetization Options

YouTube lets you:

  • Earn ad revenue
  • Add affiliate links
  • Sell courses or products
  • Get channel memberships or Super Thanks

On TikTok, unless you’re doing livestream gifts or direct brand deals, you’re basically just getting exposure.

:brain: 4. What Works Where

Creator Type Platform
Tutorials / Reviews :white_check_mark: YouTube
Comedy / Skits / Trends :white_check_mark: TikTok
Long-term brand building :white_check_mark: YouTube
Viral growth / attention :white_check_mark: TikTok

 My Takeaway:

If you want quick attention and don’t care about revenue yet → start with TikTok.
If you want slow but real monetization and evergreen traffic → bet on YouTube.
I’m still posting on both, but 90% of my effort now goes into growing a faceless YouTube channel. Already hit my first $100+ month and climbing.

Curious to hear what’s working for you guys. Are you seeing better numbers on TikTok or YouTube lately? And how about this tiktok and youtube service, really working?
