Although this cannot be proven, I will give you the benefit of the doubt.
I feel that we are back to square one again with the lying. Its clear that you watched the video before uploading it to your website/blog. Someone who is honest would have simply asked for a refund, or paid the extra $5 to get a new video from Fiverr made from someone who will follow your script exactly. We are responsible for our actions, and you posted this video knowing that it was dishonest.
Thank you for showing an effort to correct the inaccuracy of this video. I will be checking your other content which I know for a fact is not true. These will be stated upon discovery and the community will be able to see if you were willing to remove that information also.
Great, we will hold you accountable to your new life-long motto
Looking forward to it
Thank you very much for your generous donation. I will be sure to share this with the community that spent their time today assisting me, and those that have shown a genuine interest in this topic.
Damage done, and I admitted that. I put myself under the spotlight, telling everybody that Iām sorry. (No matter it is because of the fear of being exposed, or I want to sincerely apologize to @BrandonBerner )
Copied content removed.
Donated some money for @BrandonBerner Coffee Fund, token of appreciation for his hard work and original content.
Youtube Video removed.
Iāll never do this again.
Before you post another comment asking me to record a dancing video, imagine yourself in my current situation. What else do you expect me to do? Except from yet to post quality original content in this forum, I have done everything I was asked for / could.
Let this serve as a lesson for everybody else, but please stop here.
Very well handled Brandon. All jokes aside this was a very serious matter and if it had happened to anyone else here I could have imagined that they would have handled it differently. Thank the heavens the content was not stolen from @Fonzie because the chap would have certainly have had to post a social media rap!
Ones true character is revealed in situations like these. Ones which take us out of our comfort zone. I just want to commend you on how well you handled this.
Your affiliate link for MP should be banned. Itās not even plagiarism, you just copy pastaād, at least use spintax next time bro. Sheesh. And you say you are in the forumā¦
Okay i donāt wanna stir up things but.,ā¦ isnāt it a little but hypocritical to report someone for the things we do ourself (reposting content from others for our own gain?
Sorry but i really have to disagree with that, copyright infringement is copyright infringement, end of story.
Posting hundreds of stolen pictures on IG/FB is just as bad as stealing written content and we do it constantly with MP
So to go after this guy like he is the next jack the Ripper is a bit hypocritical IMHO, if you go after people like this maybe you should take a closer look in the mirror and asses your town actions
What he did was wrong, but we do it too on a daily basis, no matter how you try to spin it for yourself. (something with the throwing a rock comes to mine)
Thatās like saying that stealing a candy bar is equivalent to an Oceans 11 heist of 3 casinos because they are both āstealingā
Or we could say that using your friends Netflix login is the same equivalence to pretending you were him at the hospital to use his insurance.
Itās a false equivalence.
Because you could say āHey you were pretending to be this or that!ā.
If I were to use the same broad interpretation that youāre using I could say that you were infringing upon Heinekens trademark by using that shirt as your avatar.
I know you like to stir thing up a bit. But really, lets be honest, for you to to try to make a comparison to someone posting a picture of Everest to one of Brandons 1000+ word posts is way off base and I think insideā¦you know that.
If Heineken would take actions against me for using their brand on this shirt i would have to take it down, as i am STEALING it from them, stealing a candy bar is in the eye of the law the same as stealing a bar of gold, stealing is stealing, period.
You try to pretend that you only steal one pic, you are stealing thousands of images to use for your own gain, you do EXACTLY the same thing this guy did, perhaps even on a bigger much bigger scale (i know i do) so stop pretending youāre for some reason are the good guy, we are no better then Steven, stop pretending that you are.
I made my point, take a look in the mirror before you judge someoneās actions and start a witch hunt.
But you ARE using HEINEKENS trademark WITHOUT their consent.
You KNOW that but you DO it anyway.
You are well aware that what you are doing is INFRINGING upon their trademark. But itās āokā because no one said āHey Daveā¦Umā¦Donāt do that because itās infringing.ā.
Itās like my nephew who is just fucking up continuallyā¦and he knows itā¦but heās gonna keep doing it (until he breaks an arm or or a leg) until some adult tells him not to. Then heāll say āUncle Fonzie I didnāt know!ā
What Iām saying (and I know you get this. Iāve read your posts you are a SMART guy) is there is a huge difference between taking a picture and sitting down at the computer, blocking out time, writing 1000+ words, grammatically correct, that people will appreciate, and will make a difference.
There is no witch hunt.
I wouldnāt give two shits if someone āappropriatedā a picture I took of Mt. Rushmore, the beach, or my dog taking a shit. But I would be moderately upset if someone decided to āappropriateā the work and effort I put into writing a guide to dealing with ādouche-bags onlineā that took me 6 hours to write, format, edit and post.
Hi guys, I think @BrandonBerner has decided and @stevenvertigo would just have to keep his part of the bargain or elseā¦ and while we all know that you both meant well, letās take it down a notch after all weāre family
Do you even read what i write? Yes i infringe copyrights on a daily bases that is why i think it is hypocritical to judge Steven from using content from here while at the same time youāre making money for content from others that you steal
Jesus, it isnāt that hard to understand, right? It is hypocritical no matter how you spin it to make yourself look superior, you me and everybody here on this board are no better then Steven, so donāt even pretend you are.
@BrandonBerner Good on you for highlighting this and dealing with it in a rational, logical and productive way
@stevenvertigo Dick move on the stealing, but if you follow through with what youāve said thatās a cool thing to do
TBH my opinion on this is weāre mostly angry and feel good because he took something from our community. If we got to meet the people that we piss off with our shit, weād get exactly the same treatment. Is everyone here saying they go their profile pictures, reward content, picture and quote content and pdf guides to this stuff themselves or just stole it?
I see itās a bad thing to steal this and frustrating because itās good content from Brandon though, and it is disappointing. BUT think that in 5 years when this method is dead and weāre all moved onto something new, people will be using these threads we posted in as evidence that āit was easy to make millions thenā and that these were āthe good old days of IMā before it died and was impossible, and no-one will care itās all being stolen.
Of course I read what you have written (Catholic school for a million years make what you will of that).
I can see that itās a waste of time to talk to someone that feels that using a shotgun vs. a sniper rifle has the same equivalence.
Wow. Bro. Superior? If you were to look at any of my grammatical errors you would see that I donāt hold myself in the highest of āsuperiorityā regard.
Look I get it. If you want to make the equivalence that all stealing is āstealingā thatās totally cool.
Itās like if I kiss my Grandma goodnight is considered ācheatingā by my girlfriend because I ātechnicallyā kissed another girl. Hey manā¦if thatās your standard. Iām the last person to argue with you.
But please. You donāt know me from the last picture you āstoleā. Donāt think that you know me or think that I feel Iām superior because I can present my point in an articulate, coginisant, and understandable manner.
I have no problem debating positions where the issues are understood.
But please Dave donāt do yourself the disservice of dismissing someone who knows the playing field youāre trying to defend.
Iām more than happy to go point to point with you.
But instead of using a shotgun where āEveryone is BADā lets use the sniper rifle āWhere we debate the points that matterā.
Well, I for one am glad this had a decent outcome in the end. Itās not the first time I had to deal with stolen content over the years, but itās definitely the firs time that the person responsible replied so fast and made amends. Usually it would take weeks of complaining everywhere before something got done.
So all in all, a good lesson for everyone involved and I hope a good topic to have for everyone that would think to do the same in the future. Beware, we have a tight and diverse community of people that know how to find you in the end.
I am not sure if I understand it what you meant, but just to clarify, how we found this article on your website : We used GOOGLE. More details about that simple research are available.
@ all:
yes, copyright infringement is what it is and there is no excuse. Its just a matter of time when big companies will do what music industry did with napster and with the uploader these days. So, thatās why I will never use pics of others without their permission, but everybody must know what he / she does, so its not up to me to tell you what you do on IG and what not.
As @Johnny said, what we found here, is not cool, really not cool:-1:, but it is at least a small act of indemnification that āStevenā has taken some measurements.
