If Instagram client management became unfeasible, what’s your backup income plan?

For me, and a lot of car dealerships are like this, the managers and other ‘uppers’ around you are generally not involved with day to day happenings of the dealership at least on a level that you would hope with someone directly above you.

Often times there will be like 2-4 ‘deal closer’ salesmen who are tenured over everyone else. They get fed most the deals and leave the rest of the sales floor to fend.

Very little time off. Always working the weekends.

The list could go on lol

Yeah man, haven’t you ever thought about selling cars?

It’s a lucrative business if done right
Perhaps which should create a “Making Money Method” for the uninitiated…

Yes, this thread is about alternative income sources. Anything is up for discussion.

Thank you for sharing. I always thought car dealerships were shitty because you were always scamming customers. Maybe that too, but what you brought up was interesting.

Were you even able to make a liveable income with that job, even while not being one of the tenured top salesmen? Better than minimum wage?

I’ve never had a sales job, so my only concern would be making literally less than min wage. But in theory, they sound good. Everyone jokingly says “get a job a McDonalds”, but like honestly, if you’re really troubled financially, why not just get a sales job?

I think part of the reason I was so worried this time was that IG botting is my only basket atm. Like sure, I have had ideas of what other things I can diversify into. But most of my income is dependent on IG botting.

For @Molishparty and those who preach diversify your income, are you actually running multiple businesses at the same time such that none is more than 80% of your income? I always viewed that as spreading my energy too thin, but maybe it’s the best path forward?

Atm I have a few sources of income:

  1. Airbnbing one of the flats I own
  2. Selling subscription based Shoutout packages from my IG niche/repost profiles (might set up a seperate thread about it with more details at some point)
  3. Doing IG client management
  4. Affiliate marketing on IG profiles (least profitable so far but its always some extra money)

I’m also trying to start facebook ads/management for clients and am diggind deep on e-commerce/shopify. I barely scratched the surface of it as of yet, so still long way to go before I actually make any money out of that last one - I’ve set up a few dropshipping stores which were a huge flop so far, but you won’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs.

The more you diversify the safer it is in case one of your sources of income will go belly up so make sure you do few things at once thats not necessarily strictly related to one another especially if you’re not employed full time. Just have a decent daily schedule, try not to procrastinate too much (that was my problem) and you’ll be fine.

Never thought of putting shoutouts on a subscription. That’s genius. I’ve always focused on recurring revenue and avoided shoutouts since they’re usually one time deals but now have to test this.

Graphic design and illustration is my 9to5 job

The only guy I know who sells cars is working on like his 7th year of his 4 year degree and does copious amounts of drugs.

As great as it sounds its really not easy to find the clients for that. The growth isn’t huge by just reposting and it also doesn’t provide as many leads as people might think so they often back out of it after a couple of months. Its all about introducing it well and explaining that its more of a long term marketing strategy. There are also lots of cold calls involved. Again, I will set up a seperate thread about it at some point when I start seeing some decent results. It would be great to contribute more to the forum as it helped me a lot.

Thanks for the advice here. Keeping it on the ideas I’ll explore later list for now.

Wait, I lied. Two of my clients run a car dealership together. But that’s different than being a salesman.

Exactly. Started with xGram then GramDemon. Only the OGs know how far it’s come and changed. It will ALWAYS be there

Same. Half my business is content creation already, so I’m thinking about doubling down on that. Especially higher ticket items like video.

What about managing clients paying ads ? it is like a bot, you take 25% to your self, set it once a month and walla !

is anybody here actively managing influencer Marketing spend for clients?
Like charging clients a flat rate , and buying shoutouts from micro influencers for client.
