I calculated those figures as best as I could but not knowing the exact timestamp/date that IG is using… (if this theory is correct) means they could be off… so the outliers near the equator might be off a bit. Either way, the data is strong. If anyone has anything else to provide that would be great.
So, a question I have for anyone who wants to answer.
Considering that:
-
The 6000 follow threshold is currently the best hypothesis about the block
-
Most of us are running 400-800 follows/day leading to a block of 10-12 days
-
Most of us charge on a monthly basis
Outside of responding to customer service inquires explaining the issue, how do you plan on charging/not charging for this month? Especially with automated charges/invoices.
P.S. I understand that this block could be lifted soon, even the next few hours/days but this is a thought experiment should we be in this position for 10+ days
Excellent question.
Yes but could they have been using another service prior, or following themselves even?
We personally told everyone we are not refunding during this time mainly because there are operating costs still and this is out of our control. We explain that this is a service. As part of a service, they pay us to keep on top of changes and trends and keep their account’s interest in the best of heart… even if that is turning them off for two weeks out of the monthly subscription. We say, If you don’t agree with this, you are welcome to not renew next month.
I do believe in a level of customer support/good customer experiences for the people that are professional, mature and decent people or when we truly didn’t deliver. In fact, a very select few I offered them a refund because of other previous issues such as accounts getting disabled over and over again (ugh!) and then this as the icing on the cake with them. I feel bad and believe I didn’t deliver the value promised so yes, they should be refunded. We said, only you know how valuable the followers are we brought you to you during this time… blah blah… you name how much you would like refunded from your last payment.
Not one person took advantage of the offered refunds and told us to keep the money. We didn’t get too much kick back and not one person didn’t indicate they wouldn’t be renewing due to the issue yet.
The people that have been noisy/too needy/needing additional hand holding over the last few months that I didn’t offer refunds too at all and honestly offloaded them during this time. It was the perfect excuse and now I know which type of client to avoid in the future that won’t cause my stress or waste my time.
We had one BIG naysayer but really, if people want to complain, I’m going to shut them off. Like I did this client. Adios. They can go talk trash, I don’t care. There are so many seeing amazing results with what we’re doing one naysayer won’t ruin us. Really, they need me more than I need them. There is so much demand for these quality services and we don’t have time to deal with anyone’s crap. Don’t delay the inevitable. Offload them!
Finally Jarvee is aware of this issue, and they have replied, please check.
I Run jarvee such that follow tool keeps running, and unfollow tool runs after 2-3 days of follow, It was working fine and smooth from past 1 year. But Jarvee is now asking to follow users at once and then unfollow once following number reaches to certain number. (So that both follow and unfollow tools should not run at once)
Please share how do you run Follow and Unfollow tool?
Oh wow. I had no idea people would run both the follow and unfollow tool at the same time. That’s just asking for trouble.
Me too haha

If you don’t mind me asking, what were your numbers per hour with follow and unfollow at the same time? It’s been a few years, and sadly he’s moved on to a better job, but my one contact that worked with Instagram (this was during the peak followliker days mind you) said that using both tools at the same time was a guaranteed red flag on the account.
18-20 per hour ( 350-380 per dad), with night mode. I have accounts running for 7-8 months straight, and did not face any issue with follow block. Until Now !
my 2 cents on the 6k/month block. At first this holds for my accounts in that all the accounts over 6k follows in the last 30 days are/were blocked.
but there’s one glaring exception. my personal account i was using jarvee to f/uf with…only had 651 follows in last 30 days…
i might argue that this block could be more of a running average? perhaps a daily threshold of ~200/day? that still wouldn’t account for my personal account going belly up though…
I fked up here, I told them I wasnt going to charge them for these days. Now I see it was not the best thing I could have said lol.
In the 4 years I’ve been on Instagram from all sides of it, whenever they push out a new feature it is never perfect and always has bugs. They will likely cleanup accounts like your personal account getting hit and teenager account that followed ten people in a week and got hit. But that’s not totally promising.
There are too many servers, too many data points. It’s too hard to be perfect 100% with the release of something impacting so many data points across multiple server locations.
I have friends that have have over 10k followers for over a year and still don’t have the swipe up.
I have friends that still don’t show in hashtags since the “infamous shadowban” was thought up.
They will fix things globally with the least amount of developer efforts ($$$ for them) and let the one offs go. They don’t need them. The one offs need them sure, but it’s a free platform and not worth Instagram’s developer time and money to fix your one off issue for instance.
probably the right thing to do IMO
Otherwise, we’re collecting money to sit on mpsocial and read lol
i think the updates has been done and trust score is set to 0 ! already and the accounts needs rest and start again with lower actions after a while!
Hope you are right ccause this is madness here, I run 200 accounts and 190 got blocks
That’s the same stuff that I’m experiencing. It’s acting up weirdly. The profile page changes with a creator account, the entries in the burger menu change, the sharing menu changes (main difference being the “Add post to story” button not available), and, apparently, directs also merging. I can confirm that such accounts “appear” like normal accounts.
I go out on a limb and say maybe it’s the server the app connects to which decides what “version” of the app to show? Connecting to a “bad” server gives you the look of an outdated app version?
Sad to say but it looks like its not the best course of action indeed. You have to keep in mind the service we provide is not perfect but also it is one of the best ways to grow organically, once your client fully understands that they should be fine with a few hiccups on the way which are unavoidable in this type of business.
Hopefully this shitstorm will pass in a few days.
This level 1 thread was recently shared on reddit, to a bunch of people who cry about people following and unfollowing them daily lol. They now need your help figuring out why they were indirectly effected by the blocks. The irony is killing me.
