There’s another simple, additional way to gain views from a specific region: Just interact with users from that region. You comment on US user videos and people from the US will check out your account, or you try to be mutuals with users of your preferred region. My FYP is mainly US, so I like and comment on other’s videos and it has helped me gain some US followers. It’s not a game changer, but it’ll help a bit.
I’m going to try out the sim card + VPN method. Do you always have to have your VPN turned on while using tiktok? Or will it suffice to only use it while uploading the vid? Using VPN at all times to ‘stay in the region’ = more publicity? Or it might be unnecessary…?

Should I remove my ukrainian sim-card and use VPN just when I’m uploading my video on TikTok or should i do it like forever?
What happens if once I’ve uploaded my video I get my ukrainian SIM card back in the smartphone and turn the VPN off?

Hello! I just made an account here, since I saw this question on Google.
I live in France. People in my country tend to criticize a lot. I don’t mind it, but in the end of the day, it’s a fun app, and I’d rather have fun. I decided to target countries like Thailand and Vietnam, where people actually appreciate your videos. I’ve been dealing with this for 2 months now, and here’s what finally worked for me. (iPhone user).
- Cleared my TikTok cache, and closed the app.
- Turned on Airplane Mode (alternatively you can take out your SIM, but it’s the same).
- Used a VPN.
Once I reopened the app, I started seeing videos from Asia and all my videos appear on asian FYPs, according to my stats. I think it takes a while. Once you do that, you will still see local videos, but they’re not dominating. Just don’t use your SIM card, while the app is open.

Are you sure? Cause if US sim card you get no roaming while in france. I guess with UK sim card you still get some roaming. What if I only use VPN and no sim card in a second phone.
Phone 1 : France sim card (reach France audience)
Phone 2 : No SIM card + VPN (reach US audience)
Will that work? I just passed 100k today

@teacheratn It will, but takes time to switch between regions. A week later, I was still seeing videos from my own country, but my videos started showing on my VPN’s country FYP.
Not sure about using 2 phones. My method only works if I don’t want my videos to appear on French FYP at all. With 2 phones, it will be a mess.

I didn’t have any problem with UK sim no roaming, I uploaded 5 TikTok videos and all gained views from UK. I didn’t try the no sim + VPN but it seems it works, everybody is saying that!!
I recently heard that TikTok has enabled the option to upload videos from desktop! So it’ll be much easier now

A quick update. I bought a Thai SIM card online. Even with no service, it started showing Thai videos immediately. No VPN needed.

Actually no, I posted something on my “US account” but it has 0 views, maybe it was just bad, but maybe it just didn’t work.

You just need to insert your sim while uploading tiktok videos, when you’re done you can replace it. But if you have dual sim phone just let it there and deactivate your local sim card when uploading on tiktok. I always clear tiktok’s cach before I upload.

I didn’t buy a US sim card yet so I tried this:
- took out my local sim card
- connected to wifi in my apartment
- turned on VPN with US location
- created a new account on tiktok and uploaded my video.
By the end of the day I have 0 views. Seems like tiktok banned me for using VPN(is that even possible?).
I create italian language tutorials so the content is not illegal, can’t being banned for the content.
Am I doing something wrong?

weird… Why I’ve got banned for using VPN while others haven’t?..
could depend on the quality of vpn
